	United Engineering specializes in long bed machining. We operate gantry machines up to 240' in length and 20' in width. The machines can accommodate two spindle heads on 120" centers or three spindle heads on 80" centers. They are ideal for producing aircraft wingskins, rocket panels, long extruded parts, etc. United has manufactured aircraft parts on a production basis up to 103' in length. The machines are all CNC controlled and many have 5 axis capability. Our experienced programming staff has an excellent record of "first off" conforming articles. United's gantry machines have full size vacuum beds enabling easy multiple setups and quick and economical changeover. The machines are versatile in that they may be fitted with one, two or three spindles of 3, 4 or 5 axis variation.
The safe and efficient handling of large items is provided for by overhead cranes in all of our 650' long drive thru bays. Vacuum lifting beams are used for loading and unloading wingskins from machines and trucks. United has processed as many as 400 wingskins a month through our facility, equating to over 275 tons of aluminum. Our shipping/receiving department has developed experience in the export packaging of large items for air and sea shipments.
